Services on public transport have increased as part of Phase 2 of the Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business.
TFI Local Link Mayo services are continuing to offer a collect and deliver service throughout the county, from pharmacies and local shops, delivering critical medical supplies and meals to the elderly, the vulnerable and sick within rural areas.
As social distancing measures significantly reduce public transport capacity, the National Transport Authority (NTA) are encouraging those who need to travel on public transport to only do so if their journey is essential. The NTA recommend that you consider cycling or walking to your destination as an alternative where feasible. If public transport is the only option, people should follow public health guidance when travelling.
The NTA are urging customers to wear face coverings while on public transport. Doing so will increase protection for other customers and for public transport workers. This is an important part of the effort to rebuild confidence in public transport as we move through the phases of the Roadmap, and as restrictions are eased across the country.
Enhanced daily cleaning will continue to be undertaken, which includes the daily sanitising of frequently-touched surfaces on board all vehicles. TFI Local Link Mayo are following all guidelines issued by the NTA and continues to follow all public health guidelines issued by the Chief Medical Officer and the HSE.
