TFI Local Link Mayo COVID-19 Update

At the COVID-19 press conference on March 27th, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Minister for Health Simon Harris, and Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan outlined new public health restrictions.

From a TFI Local Link Mayo transport perspective, we recommend the public should not use public transport unless absolutely necessary.  TFI Local link Mayo services will continue to enable people to access essential services and will ensure social distancing and vehicle hygiene.

TFI Local Link Mayo is working with Mayo County Council,  An Garda Síochána, community and volunteer groups to ensure that vulnerable members of the community can avail of a trusted and coordinated support services over the coming weeks and months, providing additional trips where possible for essential travel to purchase provisions and making contact with passengers who are not travelling but may require assistance.

TFI Local Link Mayo is offering a collect and deliver service, where possible, from pharmacies and local shops for passengers, delivering critical medical supplies to the elderly, the vulnerable and sick within rural areas. 

 

The areas covered include Blacksod, Belmullet, Rossport, Geesala, Ballycroy, Bangor Erris, Achill, Mulranny, Kilmeena, Islandeady, Glenisland, Newport, Westport, Louisbugh, Knockmore, Lahardane, Crossmolina, Ballycastle, Kilalla, Lacken, Ballina, Attymass, Foxford, Swinford, Killasser, Cross, Kilmaine, Ballinrobe, Ballyglass, Ballintubber, Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Knock.  We may be in a position to include other areas depending on demand.

The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve in Ireland, and TFI Local Link Mayo is aware that this uncertain period is concerning to many throughout the county. TFI Local Link Mayo is following all guidelines issued by the NTA and continues to follow all public health guidelines issued by the Chief Medical Officer and the HSE.
