New: DAPA training now available

 

 

Local Link Mayo now offer DAPA Training.  DAPA has been designed specifically for the passenger transport sector and prepared in accordance with best practice guidelines from the safety management framework of the Local Link Rural Transport Programme.

 

DAPA stands for Driver And Passenger Awareness. It is a programme specifically designed to enhance the skills both of Bus Drivers and Passenger Assistants.  The programme is a combination of theory and practice covering the following topics:

 

  • Health & Safety
  • Defensive driving, good driving practise and skills
  • Paperwork and Technology
  • Disability
  • Securing Wheelchairs
  • Vehicle Evacuation
  • Driver Well Being
  • Safeguarding

 

On completion of the programme participants receive a 120-page A5 size DAPA training manual/ reference guide.  They will also receive a DAPA certificate of training.
